Last week, Samsung released the stable version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and made it available in its home country, South Korea. Now, the company has started rolling it out in more regions, with India being among the first to get it.
The update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is 4,184.38MB in size and carries firmware version F946BXXU6GZE2, whereas that for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 carries firmware version F731BXXU6GZE3 (via Tarun Vats). To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Samsung may also be rolling it out in other countries as we speak. To check its availability in your region, follow the process mentioned above for getting the update. This marks the end of the One UI 8.5 beta program for the two phones, which ran for almost one and a half months.
The first thing you will notice after installing One UI 8.5 is a slightly different user interface in a few places, especially in first-party apps, where you will see a floating bar at the bottom instead of a flat design, as well as a more customisable Quick Settings panel.
The next thing you will find is that it has a lot more features in almost every aspect. One of the most talked-about ones is the support for Apple AirDrop, which lets you exchange files with iPhones, iPads, and Macs wirelessly without third-party apps more easily than ever.
